  On April 1, 2007, Dr. Attachai Jintrawet, Associate Professor in the Department of Soil Science and Conservation at Chiang Mai University, was appointed as Coordination Research chair of the CDN of the Thailand Research Fund (TRF). Jintrawet is a member of the Board of ICASA.

• L. R. Ahuja Ag System Award
  The L.R. Ahuja Ag Systems Modeling Award is presented to an early career soil scientist, agronomist, or crop scientist in recognition of significant contributions in: (1) using agricultural system models in field research and technology transfer, (2) training and advising graduate students to use models in their research, and helping other field scientists in this area, (3) trans-disciplinary (boundaries of disciplines) research to fill knowledge gaps critical to improving system models, and (4) syntheses and quantification of the trans- and inter-disciplinary knowledge with new concepts and theories for improving the models. The award is supported by a gift from Dr. Lajpat (Laj) R. Ahuja to the Agronomic Science Foundation and administered by the Soil Science Society of America. The award consists of a certificate and $1000 honorarium.

• DSSAT Version 4.0.2.0 Release
  The DSSAT development team announces the release of DSSAT v4.0.2.0, which is an update of DSSAT v4.0. Current DSSAT v4.0 owners can download this update from the ICASA web page at http://168.29.150.63:81/. This version of DSSAT includes a new cotton model as well as the spatial application tool AEGIS/WIN that was available earlier under DSSAT v3.5. DSSAT v4.0.2.0 also includes many code improvements as well as fixes for bugs that were discovered since the release of DSSAT v4.0 in 2004.
